Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of the full 44-amino-acid growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), modified at its N-terminus with a trans-3-hexenoyl group that protects it from the enzyme that clears natural GHRH within minutes. That single change gives the molecule a working half-life the native hormone never had, and it is the most extensively published GHRH analogue in the literature, commonly researched in growth-hormone-axis and body-composition models. It is the full-length counterpart to Sermorelin's 29-residue fragment in that section of the range.
