Ipamorelin 5MG

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide, five amino acids in the order Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, with the molecular formula C38H49N9O5, a molecular weight of about 711.9 g/mol and the CAS number 170851-70-4. Two of its building blocks are mirror-image (D-form) amino acids and one, Aib, does not occur in proteins at all, features that make a small peptide harder for the body's enzymes to break down. It acts at the ghrelin receptor, also called the growth-hormone secretagogue receptor, the same receptor the body's own hunger hormone uses to signal the pituitary gland. It was developed in the 1990s, derived from an earlier growth-hormone-releasing peptide, as a selective growth-hormone secretagogue: in the original studies it acted on growth-hormone release without raising cortisol, ACTH, prolactin or the other pituitary hormones that earlier compounds in the class also moved, and that selectivity is the property most of the literature is built on. It is commonly researched in growth-hormone-axis, body-composition and recovery models, and for the sleep-linked rhythms that run alongside that axis. It has been through human trials: it reached phase II for the recovery of bowel function after surgery, and that development was dropped for lack of efficacy. It has never been approved as a medicine, and the World Anti-Doping Agency lists it by name among the prohibited growth-hormone secretagogues.
